This section is all Cubs are full of energy and ready to explore! At this stage, they begin to take on new challenges, work more as a team, and push themselves to try things they’ve never done before.
A Bit of Everything
Cubs get stuck into a wide mix of activities, which might include:
- Building shelters and learning fire safety
- Fun science, DIY or creative projects
- Map reading and simple navigation
- Problem-solving games and challenges
- Taking part in community or fundraising events
No two weeks are the same—and every session helps Cubs grow their independence, teamwork and confidence.
Camps and Sleepovers
Cubs get their first taste of real camping! We run day trips, indoor sleepovers, and (when ready) full weekend camps. These are great chances to build friendships, learn practical skills, and have fun away from home.
Badges and Awards
Cubs earn badges for the things they try and learn—from cooking and hiking to teamwork and personal challenges. With leader support, they’ll also start working towards larger awards like the Chief Scout’s Silver Award—a real milestone in their scouting journey.
