Team: Trustee Board
Ideal skills: Good communication, teamwork, problem-solving and a willingness to support your local community. No previous Scout experience is required.
As a Trustee, you’ll help shape the future of our Scout Group by supporting key decisions, overseeing governance and ensuring the group is well managed. Working alongside the rest of the Trustee Board, you’ll help make decisions about finances, policies, property and the long-term direction of the group.
This is a flexible, behind-the-scenes role that doesn’t involve running weekly meetings with young people. It’s a great opportunity to use your skills, gain new experience and help ensure local Scouting continues to thrive for years to come.

Team: Beavers Leadership Team
Ideal skills: Enthusiastic, friendly, reliable and enjoys working as part of a team. No previous Scout experience is needed.
As a Beavers Team Member, you’ll help deliver fun, engaging activities for young people aged 6–8, supporting them as they learn new skills, make friends and gain confidence. You’ll work alongside experienced volunteers to help run games, crafts, outdoor adventures and badge activities in a safe and welcoming environment.
Whether you can help every week or on a more flexible basis, we’ll support you with training and guidance as you settle into the role. If you’re looking for a rewarding way to give back to your community and help inspire the next generation, this could be the perfect place to start.

Team: Trustee Board
Ideal skills: Organised, trustworthy, comfortable with numbers, attention to detail. Previous finance or bookkeeping experience is helpful but not essential.
As Treasurer, you’ll help keep our Scout Group financially healthy by overseeing income and expenditure, maintaining accurate financial records, and preparing simple reports for the Trustee Board. You’ll work closely with the Group Lead Volunteer and fellow trustees to help set budgets, manage day-to-day finances, and ensure we’re making the most of our funds to deliver great experiences for young people.
This is a flexible, behind-the-scenes role that’s ideal for someone who enjoys being organised and wants to make a meaningful impact without working directly with young people every week. Full support will be provided, and you’ll never be expected to do it alone.
