1. What Is Investiture?
Investiture is a short ceremony where a young person officially becomes a Scout. It’s a fun and special moment to welcome them into the group. This usually happens after your child completes their four-week trial and decides to stay.
2. Uniform and Where to Get It
Each section (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Young Leaders) has its own uniform. You can purchase uniforms from the official Scout Store website or other approved resellers. We don’t supply uniforms, so please make sure your child has theirs before their investiture.
3. Neckerchiefs and Starter Pack
Every group has its own unique neckerchief (or “necker”). Once your child is invested, we provide:
- A group necker
- A woggle (to hold the necker in place)
- A set of starter badges
This kit is available at a one-time cost of £5. If items are lost in future, replacements are:
Necker: £5
Woggle: £2
